- Bill Rosacker
William “Bill” Rosacker passed away on January 11th. Rosacker was United Bankers’ Bank’s (UBB) third president and took the helm of UBB in 1985. During Bill’s 34 years of leadership at UBB, he successfully navigated the bank through various industry crises, oversaw the development and implementation of new and industry-shifting banking products and technologies, completed the bank’s merger with the Ohio based Great Lakes Bankers’ Bank in 2016, and lead the expansion of UBB’s service territory from Minnesota to 14 additional states covering the West Coast, Rocky Mountain, Midwest, and Great Lakes regions.
During Bill’s tenure at UBB, he grew the bank’s assets from less than $30 million to almost $1 billion, the number of employees from 20 to over 130, and personally assisted in growing UBB’s capital through various stock drives that were vital to UBB’s growth and innovation. Bill exemplified steady leadership, maintained a constant eye on the potential to expand and enhance UBB’s products and services, and lived and breathed community banking.
Rosacker’s industry leadership and experience led to his service on numerous boards and in many organizations, including as a member of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) and its Board of Directors, TCM Bank Board of Directors, ICBA Bancard Board of Directors, Secretary of the ICBA Executive Committee, and member and Chair of the ICBA Political Action Committee.
Throughout Bill’s 51-year banking career, he formed countless relationships with fellow bankers and UBB team members, played an influential role in shaping the bankers’ bank industry and business model, and left a legacy at UBB that will last an eternity.
Bill was one in a million and will be missed dearly.
